WHAT IS THE NEXT NOW THAT Google's ANDROID CAN BE INSTALLED ON THE APPLE'S PHONE?

Hacker and programmer David Wang has at last done it. He has hacked Apple's iPhone.  Wang has effectively booted the iphone with Google's Android.

This is certainly quite an exploit: booting Google's Android os on Apple's iPhone

Wang, full fledged member of the a unit referred to as "The iPhone Development Team," that  is fully committed to hacking iPhones.  Just last week he posted a video showing the Google Android on an iPhone.

The video demonstrates the booting procedure complete with the Tux Linux mascot.  Furthermore it reveals Wang utilizing the Google Droid for browsing, receiving a text message, answering a phone call and playing music. Wang has the iPhone set up with a dual-boot configuration.  You can notice this as Wang begins the video with the iPhoine running on its OS.

Wang willingly admits that his hack is not production-quality at this time.  He claims that the hack is still in its Alpha phase but he claims that everything operates perfectly when it comes to functionality.

Wang's Droid patch on the iPhone is quite a technical triumph  Some state it won't transform the industry nor the behavior of mainstream end users.  The one striking thing Wangs hack does illustrate is that the iPhone may be compromised even with its hold on the source code.

Wang notes that he has been  working on his patch since 2008.  The video he uses to reveal his triumphant hack is done with a first-generation iPhone.  Nevertheless, newer iPhones are also prone to be breached by this hack.

Wang states that it should be simple to port forward to the iPhone 3G.  He readily admits that the 3GS will take additional work however.  Wang's vision is to make the Google Droid a viable alternative or supplement for the iPhone and perhaps we can ultimately incorporate Flash.

GOOGLES ANDROIDS:SmartQ-V5 Review

www.googlesandroids.com
Manufacturer: Smart Devices
Release Date: 2009

This is a review by: thelewisfour.com

Notes:

Tablet with 4.3" resistive resistive WVGA (800×480) touchscreen, 600MHz ARM11 processor. Supports Ubuntu Linux and Windows CE 6.0 in addition to Android.

With FBreader, the SmartQ V5 MID definetly qualifies as an book reader, for those inclined to shy away from dedicated eReaders are stick to laptops/tablets/netbooks/PDAs/smartphones/etc.

The Smart Devices import from China, available from AllPMP and other importers, this 5" device (the slightly more expensive SmartQ V7 shares all attributes except for having a larger screen and longer battery life) comes with three operating systems, although the Linux based Ubuntu seems the most mature. It also runs an ancient version of Windows CE (little in common with today's Windows Mobile smart phones other than the core OS kernel). Lastly, you can run Android, although it's a bit rough around the edges. Smart Devices has been pretty good about updates, so the situation may improve.

In addition to the FBreader compatible Linux, it also plays 720p and below videos, has WiFi support and a decent web browser (Midori, based on WebKit, the same engine behind iPhone, iPad, Android and WebOS). As a Linux operating system (Ubuntu) it's extremely customizable, easy to expand with extra software, and not for the feint of heart.
